Antigone Research Excursions
First, I looked at Heather's Neatline exhibit. I had just used Neatline for the first time, so I was curious to see how someone else used it and see if I missed anything or if I should have done something differently. I thought her exhibit was awesome! I thought it was cool how she connected multiple points on the map to one Waypoint. Another thing I thought was awesome was having the multiple map layers! I would definitely say this was a successful Neatline exhibit, and I know who I can go to if I have any questions about how to navigate in more in the future!
The next research excursion I looked at was John's essay on the Greek Chorus. I remember we talked about this topic in class a little bit, so I was really interesting in seeing what he would find about this! I thought he did a really good job taking what he learned from his research and applying it back to specific moments in Antigone. I thought the segment about how the age of the Chorus giving them superiority over Creon was particularly interesting. I liked how he also discussed the impact that staging can have, like when he talked about how the chorus was likely dancing during the reading of the hymn to Dionysus. Really interesting information that added to my reading of Antigone for sure! I recommend checking both of these out if you guys have the time :)
Hey Cassi! I wish I had checked out Heather's exhibit too because I looked at yours and loved it and want to see how they differ and if there are other ways to make maps. I also read John's essay and thought he gave some really cool insight and information that I didn't know before about the choruses in other stories.
ReplyDeleteHi Cassi, thanks for sharing your insights about their research excursions. I actually hadn't checked out any of the neatline exhibits, but now I'm really interested to see what you and Heather did it them! I'm excited to go give them a look!
ReplyDeleteHi Cassi! I viewed Heather's Neatline too, and I thought it looked great! I also checked out John's essay, and I also loved how he connected to specific moments in Antigone. I haven't seen yours yet, so I'm excited to see how you used Neatline!
ReplyDeleteHi Cassi, I also read John's research excursion, but I did not think much of the impact of staging. Sometimes I forgot that Antigone is a play and that seeing a character, or in this case a group of characters, on stage at certain times can really change what you take away from the lines of other characters.
